Cardiology

Cardiology Examinations Performed in Our Department:

Electrocardiography (ECG)
This is the recording of the electrical activity generated by the heart to assess the function of the heart muscle and its conduction system.

Exercise (Treadmill) Test
The exercise test is used to investigate the presence of coronary artery disease, to evaluate the effectiveness of treatment in patients with known heart disease, to determine whether arrhythmia (irregular heartbeat) occurs during physical exertion, to assess the patient's exercise capacity in various cardiac conditions, and to examine the effect of physical activity on blood pressure in cases of hypertension.

Holter Monitoring

ECG Holter: A small device, similar in size to a mobile phone, is worn on a belt and records the heart's electrical activity continuously over a set period while the person goes about daily activities. After the monitoring period, the data is downloaded and analyzed on a computer. This device can detect short-term arrhythmias, palpitations, chest pain, or fainting episodes that may not be observed during a regular examination.

Blood Pressure Holter: Blood pressure Holter monitoring measures the patient's blood pressure and heart rate at frequent intervals throughout the day during various activities, sleep, and rest. Measurements taken over 24–72 hours can help in the early detection of hypertension in patients previously undiagnosed. In patients with chronic hypertension, the specific times of day when blood pressure spikes can be identified, and treatment can be adjusted accordingly.
