TUSA Hospital Puts Your Care First
When you come to TUSA Hospital for treatment, we do everything possible to make your stay comfortable and well-organized. Both you and your accompanying relatives receive continuous support and clear guidance to help you feel at ease and fully informed throughout every stage of your care.
Getting Ready
If you are coming to TUSA Hospital for surgery or a medical procedure, you will have already consulted with your physician and confirmed your decision to proceed. Our team will inform you in advance about your admission date, time, and any specific instructions you need to follow. These may include the following:
Fasting
• If your procedure requires sedation or general anesthesia:
• Do not eat solid food for 6 hours before your procedure
• You may drink clear water up to 2 hours before surgery, unless otherwise advised
• A light meal may be taken up to 6 hours before surgery
• Please stop chewing gum at least 2 hours before your procedure
Medications
You may take your regular medications as advised by your physician, with small sips of water
Please confirm which medications should be stopped prior to surgery, especially if you have diabetes or take blood-thinning medications (including, but not limited to, Warfarin, Aspirin, or similar agents)
If you are unsure about fasting or medication instructions, please contact TUSA Hospital in advance
Accompanying Persons
If you undergo a procedure involving sedation or general anesthesia and are discharged on the same day, you must arrange for a friend or family member to accompany you home or to your hotel and to stay with you for 24 hours after the procedure. Our International Patient Services Department can assist with these arrangements if needed.
Hygiene
Please take a shower or bath using soap on the day of your procedure or the night before. Remove all body piercings, contact lenses, makeup, and nail polish before surgery to reduce infection risk and allow proper assessment of circulation.
Interpreters & Assistance
Our team of professional interpreters and international patient coordinators is always available to help you understand medical information and guide you throughout your stay at TUSA Hospital.
Preliminary Tests
You will be informed in advance if additional tests are required before your procedure, such as blood tests, urine analysis, X-rays, MRI, or CT scans.
Not Feeling Well Before Your Procedure?
If you develop symptoms such as a cold, flu, fever, or experience any recent changes in your health condition, please contact your surgeon a few days before your scheduled procedure.
Smoking and Alcohol
We strongly recommend that you avoid smoking and consuming alcohol for at least 24 hours before your surgery. Longer periods of abstinence are beneficial, but even 24 hours can positively affect your recovery.
Carers
If you require additional caregiving support during or after your hospital stay, please inform the TUSA Hospital International Patient Services Department in advance so that appropriate arrangements can be made.
